Ball valves

A ball provided with a bore and guided by sliding shells in a geometrically adjusted housing is called a ball valve. The 90° angle opens or closes the way.

Construction:

  • 1-part ball valves, the low-cost variant, without exception manually operated
  • 2-part ball valves, consisting of 2 body halves, automatable
  • 3-part ball valves, consisting of centre piece and 2 connection ends, automatable

Materials Body:

  • Nickel-plated brass
  • Cast steel, forged steel
  • Stainless steel

Materials seals

  • PTFE (reinforced with glass fibre, carbon)
  • FKM

Connection types:

  • cylindrical internal thread/external thread to DIN 2999, ISO 228
  • tapered female thread NPT according to ASME/ANSI B20.1
  • Welding ends to DIN 3239, ISO 4200, DIN 11850

Pressure ratings:

  • PN10
  • PN16
  • PN40
  • PN64
  • PN100
  • ANSI-ASME16.5 class 150, class 300, class 600, class 1200

Installation lengths (in mm) EN 558-1

Depending on the type of connection, the installation lengths are standardised.
For flange fittings, the overall length EN558-1 (formerly DIN3202 F1, F4, F5 or DIN3202 K1 for wafer fittings) is used.
